In classical times when Cicero had finished speaking, the people said, ‘How well he spoke,’ but when Demosthenes had finished speaking, they said, ‘Let us march.
Flip-an-idea
While browsing through some productivity sites regarding how to improve your creativity and productivity I came across this excellent piece of advice: Flip-an-idea…
Say you want to generate some new idea about anything like new product feature, business, research or whatever you are into, you can apply this technique. Like if you already have some information or an idea about something & you want some new idea try to flip it i.e. think exactly the opposite of it.
Examples: say you are brainstorming to develop the fastest website of the world… now think opposite – the slowest website & it’s features a)heavy graphics b)cranked layout c)lot of tables etc… d)heavy flash use.. . Eureka!!! Develop the website without these features and you have the fastest website around….
Another example would be say you want to develop a new mobile phone and you don’t know what would be its features. Now flip the idea, think about the worst mobile phone ever made… bulky, difficult to carry, slow response etc. the list is endless. Now try to think opposite of these: light weight, easy to carry, faster interface. You have the list of features with you.
Don’t let the simplicity of this technique make you ignorant about it. I know it’s very simple but its very effective give it a try. This idea is very much applicable in our lives & at our workplace. It is very practical & I have incorporated into my own life, in my studies, in my personal relationships & whatever you can imagine.
You can even use this idea with your pets… say you want to make your pet happy… what are the things that make him go crazy… when you don’t feed him on time, when you don’t give him attention, when you don’t play with him… so simple flip all these & think opposite of this. Your pet would be happy.
This technique is adopted & incorporated into this blog, we will use this technique throughout the lifetime of this blog. As such this post is also highlighted .
On being teacher's pet
Research demonstrates that it is the most creative children who are the least likely to become the teacher’s pet. In one study, elementary school teachers listed their favorite and least favorite students, and then rated both groups on a list of characteristics. The least favorite students were the non-conformists who made up their own rules. Teachers tend to discriminate against highly creative students, labeling them as troublemakers. In response, many children quickly learn to get with the program, keeping their original ideas to themselves. In the language of author William Deresiewicz, they become the world’s most excellent sheep.
Why should you not go on adding features to a product?

New Brunswick

Home to 729,500 people, the province of New Brunswick is located in Eastern Canada, adjacent to New England and sharing the border with the state of Maine to the southwest.
New Brunswick boasts a dynamic and steadily diversifying economy – a happy and productive marriage of traditional, resource-based industries, and technologyoriented
knowledge-sector enterprises. Its people are heirs to a rich and varied history of social and linguistic harmony – New Brunswick is Canada’s only officially bilingual province (66% anglophone, 33% francophone).
As a place to visit, New Brunswick is second to none in its mix of natural splendours and urban amenities. As a place to live, New Brunswick offers safe neighbourhoods, friendly people, affordable housing and a stimulating environment for live theatre, music and film, fresh and sea water boating, kayaking and whale watching, plus world class hiking, climbing and national level sports.
Busy
My computer has become very dusty. I think, it is all over now. After all, my computer was with me for more than 4 years like a true friend. He (yes he, how can a computer be female?) has become dusty and outdated, maybe aged now. I don’t care much for him now. Sitting in the corner my computer envy me. And asks, are you the same guy who used to decorate and clean up my whole thing every weekend? Ok my job is done now, but I have served you my lord, I deserve some sympathy from you.
In-between, I see a dusty and a broken laptop in my dreams. Maybe, it is the future of a new notebook computer I am eyeing to buy.
People change with time, what about computers?
This will never happen again on earth
“A blog revolving 360* around ordinary life and discovering new things n making them get noticed!”
It is my duty to let you know things that you may not be able to notice, that is what my blog says. To let you notice about unnoticed things and actions those are taking place in a life so ordinary.
On May 4th 2006 at 2 minutes and 3 seconds after 1 am… the time and date will be:
01:02:03:04/05/06
(Hour: minute: second: date/month/year)
This will never happen on this earth again.
What so special about this? I don’t know about you but I have already set alarms for this thing (like New Year celebrations). I will wake up at mid night and write a diary entry. It will begin with (I always enter time also), 01:02:03 04/05/06… How cool?
Are you not excited?
Please make a difference
Meanwhile, I would like to bring your attention towards this blog entry(hopefully if you don’t know already); our friend Niru is making lots of efforts to let us notice small things with big meanings.

writing

Few days ago, I read a interesting newspaper article. Before opening the article the author said she write best when she is most upset. I believe, the same goes for me. I write (read “type”) the best when I am most upset or disheartened.
I am writing this on a piece of paper (my free flowing thoughts). And it is almost half a decade since I used a pencil to write something about me or my thoughts. I have been using pen for long. I prefer pencil over pen. You can erase what you don’t want. How wonderful it would be if your life was a sheet of white paper and your actions are the writing and your mind is the pencil. Write whatever you want or scribble along, do not worry you can always erase it later. Or will you prefer to keep your paper blank (and clean)? Will you be not willing to write something?
Sitting in a well-lit room, waiting for the electricity cut to take over, I wonder I would have not been able to cherish the fun of writing with a pencil if there was not electricity cut at all. First ever I loved the electricity board. Writing or expressing thoughts for me, it conjures up the blurred image of screen half covered with nice wallpaper and notepad window or sometimes few buttons presses on the congested keypad of my mobile that gives me sleepless nights due to pain in my fingers.
Three paragraphs, I really enjoyed writing with a pencil. Look how fluently I move my hand, how smoothly I make curves or try to make, like if I am painting something. I believe I am a poor painter. I have been trying to improve my hand writing.
I always wonder whenever I try to be good at something, poorer I become at it. You know, I hate sharpening my pencil again and again.
To be more honest, I don’t want to make a mess of this writing. I am falling short of ideas, I better end this. Let me close this, before I open a new article.
